Your evening at the Sewall Mansion at 963 Washington Street will begin with a private tiki cocktail class from Vena’s Fizz House of Portland. Nibble on charcuterie, then bring your drinks with you on a tour with owner and Maine Maritime Museum Executive Director Chris Timm and Curator Emeritus Nathan Lipfert. Discover the home’s history, beginning with its construction in 1844. In 1894, the home was renovated by John Calvin Stevens as a wedding present from Arthur Sewall to his son Harold Marsh Sewall, who later served as the last US minister to Hawaii. The museum made its home in the mansion from 1964 to 1989, and Nathan will regale you with stories from his time working there for more than 20 years. This is your chance to explore an architectural treasure of Maine!
