The pendant features hand-twisted gold around an aqua chalcedony sphere; chalcedony is composed of quartz and moganite, and each piece is unique. LIVE AUCTION ITEM: Prepare to be whisked away for an unforgettable evening as Maine's acclaimed chef, Sam Hayward, crafts a culinary journey in your home, right before your eyes. Chef Hayward is a leading champion of the farm-to-table movement in Maine, co-owner of Fore Street in Portland, and Maine's first chef to receive the prestigious James Beard Award. Chef Hayward will be joined by special guest Sandra Oliver, an expert on New England coastal and maritime food traditions. Sandy is a gardener, cook, and freelance food writer and food historian. A regular columnist in the pages of the Island Institute’s Working Waterfront and other Maine publications, she has also authored several books of food history, including the prize-winning Saltwater Foodways: New Englanders and Their Food in the 19th Century.
