Carved Wooden Seagull

Raised on the coast of Maine, carver Wayne Robbins was inspired as a youth to capture the essence of nature in wood. His appreciation of the innate beauty of wood helps him design pieces that maximize the grace of both the medium and the subject. For finishes, Robbins uses various combinations of oils and waxes to give the sculpture that “almost wet” look as well as a feeling that is silky-smooth to touch. This seagull (with a fish in its mouth!) stands 8.5″ tall at its highest point, 9″ wide at its widest point, and has been expertly hand-carved to capture the character of these unique birds. A treasure to brighten any home or office!

Donated by Wayne Robbins.
