Deck Prism Necklace

This brilliant innovation, conceived for vessels before the convenience of electricity, has been rediscovered and installed aboard today's second millennium models and architects are now including them in home designs. A deck prism is laid flush with the deck of a vessel, and the conical shape draws light down and diffuses it below deck. The prism sheds light in all directions.

AGA Correa's natural quartz, hand-cut crystal prism charm is polished to perfection. Each crystal is supported by hand-drawn 18k wire, providing a strong framework without distracting from the light-gathering properties of the correctly proportioned crystal. Comes complete with 14k gold chain.

Dimensions: chain length 18", charm height 1.25" (32mm).

Donated by AGA Correa.

Once-in-a-Lifetime Adventure to Halfway Rock Light Station

Built in 1871 to mark a notorious navigational hazard at the mouth of Casco Bay, this offshore lighthouse was staffed 24/7 for 105 years until it was abandoned in 1976. After being designated one of the most endangered historic lighthouses in America in 2012, Halfway Rock was fully restored under private ownership. Now the recipient of several regional and national restoration awards, it is the subject of recent documentaries on historic preservation under challenging circumstances.

This exclusive trip for up to four includes departure from South Freeport for the 10-mile trip off-shore, approx. 90-minute tour and exploration of the island, and return by boat. Participants receive a catered box lunch. Winner also receives a copy of the book Halfway Rock Light Station: A Granite Ledge 9.5 nm East of Portland, Maine by Ford Reiche.

Donated by Ford Reiche. Please note that landing at Halfway Rock can be a bit dicey, so visitors should be capable of handling uneven and slippery footing. Because of uncertainties of sea conditions, trip will likely be before midday. To be scheduled on a mutually agreeable date. This item has a reserve price.
